We have a fantastic opportunity for a Planner to join our Highways business on our Area 12 contract, based from Bolton (De Havilland Way, BL5 3NH).

As a Planner, you'll play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of highways maintenance and improvement works across the network. Working closely with Contract Managers, Project Managers and operational teams, you'll develop and maintain programmes, coordinate project activities and provide planning expertise that helps ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering essential infrastructure services that keep communities connected and the UK's road network moving.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing, maintaining and updating project and contract programmes.
  • Monitoring progress against key milestones and identifying programme risks, constraints and opportunities.
  • Supporting operational teams with the planning and coordination of highways maintenance activities.
  • Producing both short-term and long-term delivery programmes.
  • Analysing programme performance and providing recommendations to improve efficiency and delivery outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with operational, commercial and client teams to ensure planning information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Producing progress reports, programme updates and planning information for key stakeholders.
  • Supporting resource planning activities across labour, plant and materials.

We Want to Hear From You If You Have

  • Experience in a planning role within highways, infrastructure, civil engineering or construction environments.
  • Experience using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes.
  • Knowledge of programme controls and project delivery processes.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Highways maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • A relevant qualification in Planning, Engineering or Project Management.
