About The Role
RGB Recruitment seeks an experienced Planner for a full-time post in Exeter, offering £35,000 to £45,000 per annum depending on experience. The successful candidate will join a design-led consultancy providing architectural, construction management, and planning services.
Applicants should possess ten or more years within town planning, ideally across sectors such as leisure parks.
Duties include:
- Preparing and submitting applications
- Advising clients
- Liaising with local authorities
Strong communication, report writing, and project management skills are essential.
Based in a small, friendly Exeter office, the Planner receives support comparable to that of a large multi-disciplinary practice, alongside genuine prospects for professional growth and career development.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Planner to join a well-established practice in their East Devon office. The design-led consultancy offers a range of services from Architectural through to construction management and planning, all while maintaining an excellent staff retention.
The right candidate will ideally have 10+ years of planning experience across a variety of sectors, including leisure parks, and you can find yourself working in a small but friendly office environment, being fully supported with all the benefits you will find working for a large multi-disciplinary.

The Role

- Develop creative and original planning solutions
- Preparing policy presentations, project proposals, and tender responses
- Managing own client relationships
- Grow workload and win business in the area
- Consult with stakeholders and other interested parties
- Negotiate with developers and other professionals, such as surveyors and architects
- Assess planning applications and monitor outcomes
- Research and analyze data to help inform strategic developments
- Design layouts and draft design statements
- Attend and present at planning boards, appeals, and public inquiries
Requirements
- Relevant Planning degree within MRTPI / RTPI / RICS
- Proficiency on CAD software
- Project delivery
- Keep up to date with legislation associated with land use
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
