Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, we are seeking a Planner / Senior Planner to join our team.

The Role

This role exists for a Planner / Senior Planner to join our team on a permanent basis.

As a Planner, you will play a key role in both pre-construction and live project delivery, developing and managing construction programmes that support efficient project execution from inception through to completion. Working closely with operational teams, commercial departments, clients and supply chain partners, you will ensure projects are accurately planned, monitored and reported, helping to identify risks, opportunities and solutions throughout the programme lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Planner within the Groundworks, RC Frame, Civil or Construction sectors.
  • Experience working under the NEC Contract.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery methodologies.
  • Experience producing and managing detailed construction programmes.
  • Proficient in Asta Powerproject or similar planning software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project and commercial teams.
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce, develop and maintain detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject.
  • Prepare tender, contract and construction stage programmes.
  • Work with project teams to establish realistic sequencing, logistics and resource requirements.
  • Monitor progress against programme milestones and identify potential delays or programme risks.
  • Undertake programme analysis and provide recovery strategies where required.
  • Produce regular progress updates, reports and programme narratives.
  • Collaborate with Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers and commercial teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Attend client, subcontractor and internal planning meetings.
  • Assess critical paths, programme float and resource allocation to maximise project performance.
  • Support change management, extension of time submissions and programme-related contractual matters.
  • Ensure planning processes align with project objectives, health & safety requirements and client expectations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and planning best practice across the business.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree Qualified.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry with 4+ years of experience.
