Planning Account Director — B2B - Contract

£350–£400 per day
Minimum 3-month contract
Ideally hybrid working 3–4 days per week, but flexible depending on the candidate.

We’re looking for a freelance Planning Account Director to lead account management and media planning for a B2B technology account. You’ll combine confident client leadership with strong media planning skills, owning the day-to-day relationship and guiding work from brief through to activation and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead client relationships, managing priorities, expectations and stakeholders.
  • Translate business objectives into clear, insight-led media recommendations.
  • Coordinate planning, activation and analytics teams across integrated campaigns.
  • Ensure audience, channel, budget and measurement decisions answer the brief.
  • Oversee the handover into activation and maintain quality throughout delivery.
  • Manage timelines, scope, budgets and resources.
  • Coach the team and turn campaign learnings into stronger future plans.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in media account management, communications planning or an integrated media role.
  • Strong client leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • A solid understanding of media planning and confidence reviewing recommendations.
  • Experience delivering campaigns from brief through to activation and reporting.
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, scope and resources.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and team leadership skills.
  • B2B and international account experience would be an advantage.
