Summary
Working with guidance and support, the apprentice will assist with processing multi-utility call offs, updating relevant systems and spreadsheets, responding to site queries, and helping with any procurement queries that may arise. This role will also involve liaising with site contacts across different developments and field staff.
Wage £16,500 a year
Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Arrange all MU call offs for services
- Arrange all MU post connection paperwork for services
- Scheduling all MU Services and electricity jointing
- Sending all MU site notifications
- Dealing with all MU queries and issues, such as replacements, leaks and repairs, and phone calls/ emails from site
- All MU service Job Packs, including drawings and going through dead mains with commissioning
- Processing of water, gas, and electricity material orders from site through to procurement
- Booking in corrective actions
- Liaising with Supervisors and Project Managers about program changes
- Liaising with client site management team
- Dealing with daily phone calls
- Attend meetings; Daily Meeting, Operations Meeting.

What you'll learn
- Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation to write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.
- Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem.
- Able to update and review databases, record information, and produce data analysis where required.
- Produces accurate records and documents including emails, letters, files, payments, reports, and proposals.
- Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management.
- Drafts correspondence, writes reports, and able to review others' work.
- Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures.
- Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
- Exercises proactivity and good judgement.
- Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way.
- Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation.
- Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately.

Essential qualifications
- GCSE in: English (grade 4/C or above)
- Math (grade 4/C or above)

About this employer
Our client has been working with developers providing them with the expertise to deliver the utilities on construction projects since 2003. They work with a large range of house builders and construction companies installing Water, Gas, Electricity, and Fibre to their site's, on time and on budget.
The Planning Administrator Apprentice will be to support the Regional Programme Manager and wider Planning team with day-to-day administrative tasks within the team. The role is designed to help the apprentice develop practical workplace skills, build confidence, and gain knowledge of the utility industry and processes.
