Role Description

The Planning and Scheduling Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Hooton. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules across multiple utilities projects, ensuring that activities, milestones, and deadlines are clearly defined and communicated. The coordinator will gather and analyze project data, align resource availability with planned work, and identify potential risks or delays, providing timely updates and recommendations to project managers and stakeholders. Daily tasks include preparing progress reports, updating schedule dashboards, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring documentation is accurate and current. The role also supports continuous improvement by suggesting refinements to planning processes, tools, and reporting to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.

  • Experience with project planning and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and the ability to create, update, and interpret detailed project timelines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data, identify schedule risks, and propose practical solutions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with project managers, technical teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, reporting, and record-keeping.
  • Understanding of the utilities or infrastructure sector, or experience in a similar project-based environment, is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency with common office and collaboration software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and comfort working with spreadsheets and dashboards.
  • Ability to work on-site in Hooton and contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant qualification in project management, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
