West Coast South: Keeping Britain Moving

Stretching from Crewe to London Euston, West Coast South is part of Europe's busiest mixed-use railway-moving millions of passengers and 10% of the UK's freight each year. With over 1,000 miles of track and 64 stations, it's a vital link between major cities and local communities.

As part of the North West & Central region, we serve 1.3 million passengers daily and move 700,000 tonnes of freight weekly-covering a quarter of the national network.

Every day will be different, but you can expect to be involved in the following activities:

  • As a Planning Assistant, you'll support the Delivery Unit Planning team to coordinate access, resources and possessions, ensuring maintenance activities are planned efficiently, safely and effectively.
  • You'll work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, helping to deliver a reliable railway for passengers and freight customers alike.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
