Planning Director
The PrettyGreen Group is looking for an exceptional Planning Director to define and champion our strategic vision, ensuring planning drives creative excellence, commercial growth, and measurable effectiveness.
We’re the Global Fame Makers: an award-winning creative communications agency with big brand ambition and a boutique soul. We create purposeful fame and fortune for brands including Bupa, Audible, Hasbro, Sky, Tesco, and PizzaExpress.
This is a senior agency leadership role for someone who can connect disciplines, simplify complexity, and help clients rethink how marketing works in an AI-first world.
What you’ll do
- Lead PrettyGreen’s strategic direction and set the standard for creative and commercial excellence.
- Manage, inspire, and develop a high-performing planning team.
- Build joined-up strategies across PR, social, influencer, paid, SEO, and brand.
- Act as trusted senior counsel to C-suite clients, influencing wider marketing and business strategy.
- Shape creative strategies that deliver award-winning, commercially effective work.
- Drive agency growth through strategic thinking, major new-business success, and industry-leading thought leadership.
- Develop strategic frameworks, methodologies, and tools that strengthen our offer.
- Champion integration and innovation across teams, disciplines, and partner agencies.
- Design and facilitate engaging senior-level workshops, turning complex data into clear and compelling direction.

What we’re looking for
You’ll have:
- 10+ years of work experience with consumer brands, preferably agency side
- Strong integrated strategy experience across PR, social, influencer, paid, SEO, and brand.
- A proven record of leading strategic teams and developing planning frameworks.
- Experience creating strategies that produce award-winning and commercially effective work.
- Confidence advising C-suite clients and presenting at board and industry level.
- Strong commercial acumen, with evidence of driving profitability, growth, and new-business success.
- An established industry profile through speaking, judging, or published thought leadership.
- A genuine commitment to developing others and creating an inclusive, high-performing culture.
- A practical understanding of AI’s impact on search, content discovery, reputation, and marketing planning (you won’t need to be a technical AI specialist).
- Experience in measurement and effectiveness frameworks, proprietary tools or IP, customer journey mapping, organizational change, or purpose-led and B Corp communications would be an advantage.
