PLANNING ENGINEER

Location: Talacre, North Wales

Contract Duration: 12 months (renewable)

Job Status: Full-Time

Start Date: ASAP

Account Manager: Anthony Hughes

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to support the delivery of a major Decommissioning and Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) project within the Liverpool Bay development.

Working as part of the project controls team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements, project milestones, and execution objectives. You will play a key role in progress monitoring, schedule reporting, risk analysis, and supporting project delivery throughout the construction phase.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules in line with contractual requirements and internal standards
  • Assess schedule feasibility and identify potential risks and critical activities
  • Implement and maintain project planning and progress control systems
  • Monitor project progress and analyse deviations from approved schedules
  • Develop and maintain 90-day look-ahead, weekly, and monthly schedules
  • Support the preparation of project status reports and progress updates
  • Provide schedule impact assessments for contract amendments and claims
  • Participate in risk management activities, including schedule risk analysis
  • Promote planning awareness and schedule ownership across project teams

Requirements

  • 5–8 years' experience in planning within EPC or EPCI project environments
  • Strong experience supporting construction-phase project execution
  • Proven ability to develop, maintain, and analyse project schedules
  • Experience monitoring progress, forecasting, and reporting project performance
  • Understanding of schedule risk management and time impact analysis
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience within energy, offshore, decommissioning, infrastructure, or industrial projects is advantageous
