About The Role

This full-time position as a Planning & Environmental Solicitor in Birmingham offers a salary of £70,000 to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The Role

The team advises a broad range of public and private sector clients on both contentious and non-contentious planning, environmental, regeneration and compulsory purchase matters. As part of the role, you will have the opportunity to undertake a varied mix of planning and environmental work while also taking responsibility for the management and development of the Statutory Agreement team. You will be responsible for a varied caseload to include Section 278 and Section 38 Highways Act agreements, Section 104 Water Industry Act agreements, Deeds of Easement and Substation Lease Agreements. You will oversee and manage this function, providing valuable support to a busy national Planning team.

Skills Required

We are looking for a solicitor who combines strong technical expertise with leadership capability, commercial awareness and a genuine desire to deliver excellent client service.

  • Proven experience managing a team, supervising transactional casework and supporting the development of colleagues.
  • Experience in dealing with statutory and infrastructure agreements, ideally including highways agreements.
  • Strong technical and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively to deadlines.
  • The confidence to take responsibility for matters and manage files independently where appropriate.
