BAM are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Planning Manager to join our ASTI onshore team. As part of this team, you will play a key part in delivering large civil engineering projects that will provide critical infrastructure to enable future, renewable developments across Scotland. The projects are located near Inverness-shire and along the Moray coast. You will be required to work out of our regional offices initially which are located in Inverness or Kilsyth (Glasgow) before visiting site during project delivery. The projects are within the energy infrastructure sector, building new substations and HVDC converter stations to support Scotland's transition to net Zero.

Whilst BAM support flexible working options we are seeking individuals who are able to attend site/office the majority of each week.
Making Possible
As Planning Manager, you'll be responsible for the following:
- Client and Internal executive level facing role to support the Project Management team in presenting the project programme and providing relevant narrative
- Lead and manage a team of Planning Engineers, ensuring efficient delivery of detailed and robust programmes across all phases of the project.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Director, Commercial Manager, Construction Manager, Project Controls Manager, Design Managers, JV partner planning team, and discipline project managers.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including the client’s Project Manager and Planning Manager, as well as specialist supply chain partners.
- Work with the Commercial and Planning teams to finalise monthly reporting, including managing payment milestones and accurately managing the value of work done within the P6 programme.
- Manage the production of change programmes and narratives aligned with the NEC contract procedure in a timely manner, ensuring smooth communication and contract compliance.
- Manage the development and updates of project schedules, ensuring that change control, progress tracking, and resource allocation are accurately handled throughout the project lifecycle.
- Managing delivery of Quantitative Schedule Risk analysis at quarterly intervals
- Establish and maintain internal and external reporting on programme progress, including risks and opportunities, ensuring transparency and effective communication with all stakeholders.

What do you bring to the role?
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Planning Engineer or Planning Manager on large-scale energy infrastructure or similar projects.
- Strong knowledge and experience with NEC contracts
- Expert in using Primavera P6
- Ability to lead and coach a team, ensuring consistent delivery of programmes and mentoring junior planners.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex planning tasks, assess programme robustness, and evaluate supply chain schedules.
- Commercial and contractual awareness, particularly regarding cost loading, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Experience working on long-term projects, with an understanding of delivering during both early phases and into completion.
- Experience working on large programmes with resource loading.

Preferred Experience:
- Experience working on major energy infrastructure projects or similar facilities.
- Strong background in project planning and controls within large, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience with QSRA (Primavera Risk / Deltek Acumen Risk)
- Experience in 4D planning software (Synchro).
