Role: Planning & Materials Manager
Location: Worksop, S80 3AT
Hours: 40 hpw, between 08:30 and 17:00 Monday to Friday
Salary: between £45,000 and £52,000 pa DOE
Are you an experienced planning, materials or supply chain professional who thrives on keeping operations running smoothly? We're looking for a Planning & Materials Manager to lead our planning and stores teams, ensuring materials, inventory and production plans are aligned to deliver for our customers.
As Planning & Materials Manager, you'll be responsible for coordinating production plans, managing material flow and ensuring the right parts are available at the right time. Working closely with Operations, Production, Quality and Procurement teams, you'll play a key role in delivering on customer commitments while driving efficiency across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and develop the Planning and Stores teams, creating a positive, high-performing culture
- Oversee inventory management, stock accuracy and material availability to support production
- Manage production scheduling and ensure plans are achievable and communicated effectively
- Work with suppliers and procurement teams to resolve supply challenges and minimise disruption
- Drive continuous improvement using lean manufacturing and problem-solving tools
- Champion high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a planning, materials, supply chain, stores or stock control leadership role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management and material flow
- Experience leading, developing and motivating teams to achieve operational goals
- Knowledge of stock control processes, cycle counting and inventory accuracy
- A proactive approach to problem solving, prioritisation and decision making
- Experience working with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing or 5S principles
- Confident communicating and building relationships across Operations, Production, Procurement and Quality teams
- Comfortable working with ERP systems, with Dynamics 365 experience advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service
