Planning Officer (Power BI Developer)
Salary from £43,277 to £51,714 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is fixed term for one year
The London School of Economics and Political Science is one of the foremost social science universities in the world. The Planning Division is integral in supporting and monitoring the School’s progress towards achieving its strategic objectives. The Planning Officer (Power BI Developer) supports a range of tasks undertaken across the School, primarily relating to the production of Power BI reports, dashboards and applications to support insight and strategic decision making across the School.
Candidates Should Have
- Experience designing and maintaining high-quality visualisation reports, dashboards and applications.
- Experience of ETL processes using Alteryx, PowerQuery (M) or Fabric tools (e.g. Dataflows, Lakehouse, pipelines) to create reliable datasets for reporting.
- Experience developing and managing robust semantic models (dimensional/star schema) to underpin scalable and reusable reporting solutions including DAX optimisation and model design best practice.
- Experience working with end-users and stakeholders to translate business requirements into data models, measures and visualisations that deliver actionable insights.
- Ability to relate to and work with technical and non-technical staff at every level of the School.
- Ability to provide training and support to peers and end-users in-person and online.
