Join us and help secure Britain's energy.

About the role

As a Planning & Scheduling Assistant, you'll help keep our gas transmission network running safely and efficiently by supporting the planning and scheduling of work across our operational assets. You'll work closely with delivery teams to make sure the right resources are in the right place at the right time.

Why this role matters

Every maintenance activity, improvement project, and operational task starts with effective planning. In this role, you'll play an important part in helping teams deliver both routine and non-routine work that keeps gas flowing to homes, businesses, and communities across the UK.

You'll be at the heart of coordinating work plans, resource allocation, and scheduling, helping teams make informed decisions and deliver work safely, efficiently, and on time. Your contribution will directly support the reliability of critical national infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinate planning activities that support the safe and effective delivery of area work programmes
  • Help optimise resource allocation to ensure work can be delivered efficiently across operational teams
  • Support and contribute to planning meetings, providing accurate information and updates
  • Use scheduling tools to balance workload against available resources and priorities
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and planning information to support decision making
  • Assist with performance reporting, helping teams review KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Research information, systems, and solutions that support operational and continuous improvement initiatives

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
