Your role

The role involves taking the lead of a team of service planners who organise the day-to-day activities of our field service engineers. The successful individual will be responsible for guaranteeing efficient operations through ensuring all planned service requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the service planners across the business in UK & Ireland ensuring engineers and systems are utilised efficiently.
  • Ensure all team members are trained on relevant platforms.
  • Effectively manage the use of the SAP planning systems, ensuring they are utilised by the team effectively.
  • Carry out day-to-day people management administrative tasks for the planning team, such as annual leave approvals and performance feedback appraisals.
  • Set engineer’s work schedules in order to maximise efficiency and minimise non utilised hours.
  • Liaise with customers by phone or e-mail to arrange and confirm the service visits and ensure they are fully aware of the work and the date the work is to be carried out.
  • Be responsible for providing customers with all relevant risk assessment, method statements and engineer certification as required.
  • Monitor and record the progress of all customer orders to guarantee work is fully completed, and any additional work is planned and completed in a timely fashion.
  • To maintain all orders within SAP, confirming all work is correctly allocated so that quality reports can be gathered via SAP reporting facilities.
  • To collate information from the Field Service Engineers to accurately record and maintain customer records and information.
  • Regularly liaise with the Field Service Engineers, Service Sales Managers, Capital Sales Managers and internal departments to expedite customer requests.

To succeed, you will need

  • Significant experience of working in business administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and organising skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
  • High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional business travel.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience of working with SAP and planning tools, however training will be provided.

The following requirements are desirable but would be deemed advantageous:

  • Experience working with a sales-led organisation.
  • Knowledge of the compressed air industry.
  • Basic product knowledge, with a particular relevance on Atlas Copco group air compressors.
  • Experience of working within a service environment.

Job location

This role is based at our Warrington Office.

Applicant must be a UK resident and have a valid UK work permit if required.
