Are you an inspiring Housing Planning leader with solid experience in scheduling and workload management of a field-based multi-skill trades workforce?

We're looking for a Planning Team Leader to join our Property Care team, leading a group of dedicated Lead Planners and Work Planners. In this key role, you'll focus on coaching, performance, and team culture - ensuring our planning operation runs smoothly, efficiently, delivering repairs and maintenance services to a high standard, -and with the customer at the heart of every decision.

What You'll Be Doing

In this leadership role, you will:

  • Lead, support, and develop a high-performing team of planners.
  • Create a positive, accountable team culture focused on service quality and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily planning and scheduling activities, ensuring work is allocated effectively and realistically.
  • Use your technical knowledge to help the team scope and time jobs, achieving “right first time” outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other team leaders to optimise resource.
  • Ensure customers receive clear, timely communication and resolve complaints promptly.
  • Monitor workload, performance, and KPIs—identifying trends and driving improvements.
  • Deputise for the Planning Manager when required.

Essential

Who We're Looking For

  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or managing a team.
  • Strong understanding of repairs, maintenance, or operational planning, ideally within a housing or construction environment.
  • Confident communicator with excellent people skills and the ability to build trust quickly.
  • Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to analyse data, interpret performance metrics, and support improvements.
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety and digital planning tools.

Desirable

  • Trade-related qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential.
  • Customer Service Management qualification or equivalent experience.

This role is home-based however, as you will be leading a team of planners within the Midlands area, the ideal candidate needs to be based centrally, either in the Birmingham area, Staffordshire, Leicestershire, or Derbyshire. You would need a full driving licence as there would be regular travel to offices. Our hubs and offices are located in Birmingham Business Park, Worcester, Matlock, Newark, Market Harborough and Louth.
