Role Overview
To supervise and control Accounting activities for maximum efficiency at minimum cost in accordance with corporate and division policies and health and safety regulations.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties
- Proactive Financial Reporting: Regularly review financial performance and identify potential issues, variances, and trends early, providing timely insights and recommendations to the Plant Manager and leadership team. Ensure proper accrual accounting to minimize financial exposure.
- Cost Control & Analysis: Monitor and analyze plant expenses (labor, materials, overhead, inventory, etc.), identifying areas where costs can be optimized or reduced. Provide detailed variance analysis and root-cause explanations to address discrepancies proactively.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development and tracking of annual budgets, capital expenditure tracking, and financial forecasts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial goals are aligned with plant operations and adjust forecasts as needed to address emerging issues.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting policies, and internal controls. Proactively monitor plant financial processes to prevent and detect errors or fraud.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Provide clear, actionable insights into the financial health of the plant for management and other stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement and support initiatives that improve plant financial processes and reporting accuracy. Work closely with the plant’s operational teams to identify process improvements, cost-saving opportunities, and efficiency gains.
- Ad-hoc Reporting & Analysis: Provide custom financial reports and analysis as requested by plant leadership or corporate stakeholders. Respond to requests for specific financial data and trends with a solution-oriented approach.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with operations, procurement, and production teams to understand business operations and provide financial insights that drive operational improvements.

Other Activities
- Build and maintain product Bill of Materials for the Loudon Plant.
- Adhere to all local and corporate safety policies. Promote department and overall plant safety objectives.
- Leads the efforts of the department in compliance to maintain food safety certification.
- Adhere to the ISO9001 standards to continually improve products and service to consistently meet customer requirements.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Regional Finance Director or plant manager.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or cost control in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to identify and resolve financial issues before they escalate.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
