Role Description

The Plant Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chesterfield. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing plant and hire equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Performing scheduled and reactive maintenance
  • Supporting plant operations teams with technical guidance

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Plant Engineering and Plant Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
  • Experience in Plant Operations, including safe use, setup, and optimization of construction plant and hire equipment.
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, including fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of Power Generation systems related to plant equipment, including basic electrical systems and safety practices.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, mechanical maintenance, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
  • Commitment to health and safety, with awareness of relevant regulations and best practices in a plant environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and manage workload priorities.
  • Previous experience in construction plant hire or heavy equipment maintenance is beneficial.
