Role Description
The Plant Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chesterfield. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing plant and hire equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Performing scheduled and reactive maintenance
- Supporting plant operations teams with technical guidance
- Keeping accurate maintenance records
- Adhering to health and safety standards
- Coordinating with colleagues to minimize equipment downtime
- Contributing to continuous improvement of plant performance and reliability

Qualifications
- Strong skills in Plant Engineering and Plant Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
- Experience in Plant Operations, including safe use, setup, and optimization of construction plant and hire equipment.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, including fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of Power Generation systems related to plant equipment, including basic electrical systems and safety practices.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, mechanical maintenance, or a related discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
- Commitment to health and safety, with awareness of relevant regulations and best practices in a plant environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and manage workload priorities.
- Previous experience in construction plant hire or heavy equipment maintenance is beneficial.
