Role Summary

The Systems / Plant Engineer will act as a key interface between operational site teams and a major asset management and systems transformation programme. Working closely with engineering, maintenance, operations, planning, and asset management stakeholders, the role will support the understanding, transformation, and improvement of plant, asset, and maintenance data.

You will support asset data cleansing, enrichment, validation, and migration activities, ensuring engineering and maintenance information is accurately captured, standardised, and aligned with agreed asset hierarchies, governance requirements, and target system structures.

The role requires a strong understanding of plant operations, engineering systems, and asset management processes, together with the ability to engage effectively with site-based stakeholders and programme teams to improve data quality, support system implementation, and enable changes to processes and ways of working.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Act as the interface between the transformation programme and assigned operational site(s).
  • Build effective working relationships with engineering, maintenance, operations, asset management, and project teams.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to understand site-specific asset management processes, maintenance strategies, and system usage.
  • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts to resolve data, process, and system-related issues.
  • Lead and support activities to cleanse, validate, enrich, and standardise asset data in preparation for migration.
  • Ensure asset hierarchies, equipment records, maintenance plans, and associated data meet agreed standards and governance requirements.
  • Identify and rectify data quality issues, gaps, inconsistencies, and duplicate records.
  • Provide engineering insight to ensure plant and asset information is accurately represented within the target system.
  • Review and validate engineering and maintenance data to ensure alignment with plant configuration and operational requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of standard asset management structures, naming conventions, and data governance arrangements.
  • Collaborate with programme teams, system integrators, and technical specialists to ensure site requirements are understood and incorporated into the solution.
  • Support site readiness activities for data migration, testing, and deployment.
  • Coordinate site-based reviews to ensure migrated records meet operational and maintenance requirements.
  • Support users through changes to processes, data structures, and ways of working.
  • Provide post-migration support to resolve issues and drive continual improvement in data quality and system adoption.
  • Undertake checking activities as part of data and information governance for migratable data.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
