Role Description
The Plant Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based at our Dartford location. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of construction plant and compaction equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Conducting diagnostics and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
- Performing planned and reactive maintenance
- Supporting plant operations by preparing equipment for hire and return
- Collaborating with operations and hire desk teams
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records
- Adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards

The Plant Engineer will contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and support training and guidance for colleagues as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Plant Engineering and Plant Maintenance for construction and compaction equipment
- Experience in Plant Operations, including safe equipment handling and operational support
- Effective Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Knowledge of Power Generation systems related to plant and site equipment
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or plant engineering (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) is beneficial
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within construction and plant hire environments
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics, use diagnostic tools, and maintain clear service documentation
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with a proactive and safety-focused approach
