As we continue to grow, were looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to join our close-knit engineering team.
If you enjoy getting stuck into a variety of work, solving problems and keeping heavy machinery operating at its best then this isn't just another workshop role. You'll be an integral part of our operation, helping to keep our recycling and waste management facilities running efficiently by maintaining a modern fleet of heavy plant equipment.
BASIC SALARY: A GBP 45,000

As our Plant Fitter, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy plant and recycling equipment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults.
- Responding to breakdowns and returning machinery to service as quickly and safely as possible.
- Completing inspections to identify wear before it becomes a problem.
- Replacing components and carrying out repairs to manufacturer standards.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and job documentation.
- Working closely with the operations team to prioritise repairs and minimise downtime.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Plant Fitter, Heavy Plant Engineer

We're looking for someone who enjoys fixing problems, takes pride in their workmanship and wants to be part of a supportive team where their contribution is recognised.
Ideally, You'll Have
- Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or Heavy Plant Engineer.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working on hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Good knowledge of diesel engines and heavy plant equipment.
- Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections.
- A full UK Driving Licence.

- Welding or fabrication experience.
- Experience within recycling, quarrying, waste management or construction.
- Hydraulic hose repair experience.
- Plant operating licences.

We are an expanding waste management company, part of a large group we provide skip hire, aggregates, muck away services and plant hire across the East of England. We are a local, experienced team with skills ranging from waste, aggregate and plant hire to agricultural lagoons.
