About The Role

JN Bentley is offering an exciting opportunity for graduates to join our Plant Team at our Head Office in Skipton. This role provides hands-on experience across a wide range of plant activities that are critical to the successful delivery of our engineering projects across the UK.

You will gain exposure to plant operations, procurement, supplier management, compliance, commercial negotiations and fleet optimisation, developing a broad understanding of how a leading civil engineering business operates. Working within a fast-paced team, you'll collaborate with operational teams, suppliers and stakeholders across the business, building valuable technical, commercial and relationship management skills that will support your long-term career development.

You'll also be automatically enrolled onto our bespoke Early Careers Development Programme, a 12-month scheme designed to enhance your skills, expand your professional network and enrich your experience through a range of learning, development and mentoring opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Support our plant hire desk in delivering plant and equipment solutions to live projects across the UK.
  • Coordinate the movement of plant, vehicles and equipment with operational teams and suppliers.
  • Develop commercial awareness and negotiation skills by identifying best value solutions.
  • Support the management of company owned assets, including maintenance, compliance and fleet optimisation.
  • Monitor supplier performance and help ensure compliance to both company and industry standards, including LOLER & PUWER
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams, suppliers and stakeholders across the business.
  • Participate in site visits to gain first hand experience of plant operations and project delivery.
  • Analyse plant utilisation, hire spend and supplier performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to supplier meetings, performance reviews and commercial discussions.
  • Support fleet investment planning, including asset procurement and replacement.

What You’ll Need

  • Degree in a business area. Examples include but not limited to: Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance or Accounting.
  • Positive, proactive attitude contributing to a fun, hardworking team culture
