The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Plant Manager.
The Plant Manager is responsible for the management of the Biomass Power Plant, ensuring compliance to and delivery of the px Group Operating Standard through leadership, direction and management of strategy, actions and results.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the safe, compliant and effective running of the Biomass Power Plant. Ensuring all SHEQ, legislative and business requirements are met, maintained and improved.
- Be the site role model consistently demonstrating px’s zero harm SHEQ and risk management strategies, Company values, behaviours, policies, culture and practices.
- Build, maintain and manage effective and timely client relationships balancing and delivering px and client requirements to ensure safe, efficient asset running and excellent & adaptable customer/client service.
- Develop, lead, communicate and deliver the Annual Operating Plan, including overall philosophy, procedures and systems for the site. Consistently achieve required performance measures and statutory and management reporting. Ensure their effective communication, understanding and monitoring by all employees.
- Effectively plan, justify, control and optimise budgets, financial considerations and contracts.
- Drive the delivery of commercial KPI targets by aligning teams, establishing clear accountability, and ensuring consistent execution across all operational functions.

Minimum Requirements
- Degree-qualified in a scientific or engineering discipline, or possess equivalent industry experience with a proven track record of operational leadership and technical expertise.
- NEBOSH general certificate or be willing to attain within an agreed timeframe.
- Extensive experience within the energy sector or other high-hazard, safety-critical industries, delivering operational excellence in complex environments.
- Demonstrated success in the management, optimisation, and lifecycle stewardship of energy generation and major assets.
- Proven leadership experience operating at senior management level within the energy sector or comparable industries, driving business performance and strategic objectives.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational oversight.
