Plant Manager

South of England

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a large, complex manufacturing operation in the South of England. This is a high-profile leadership role with full responsibility for site performance, overseeing a sizeable workforce and a multi-disciplinary leadership team within a quality-critical and highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people. You will drive operational excellence, lead continuous improvement initiatives, optimize productivity and efficiency, and ensure the site consistently meets demanding customer requirements.

The successful candidate will be a strong, visible leader with the ability to balance commercial objectives, operational priorities, and customer expectations. You will also play a key role in developing leadership capability, building succession plans, and leading business improvement and transformation activities.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Plant Manager, Site Director, Operations Director, or equivalent senior manufacturing leader.
  • Leadership of large-scale manufacturing operations with full accountability for performance.
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement expertise.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering productivity, quality, efficiency, and cost improvements.
  • Experience operating within a unionised manufacturing environment and managing industrial relations effectively.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills, including budget accountability.
  • Excellent stakeholder and customer relationship management capabilities.
  • A track record of leading change, developing teams, and creating high-performance cultures.
