Plant Manager

Soufflet Bairds Malt is seeking a Plant Manager to lead its Witham operation, a key site within a business that combines longstanding industry expertise with the scale and ambition of the world's largest maltster.

Following significant investment across its UK manufacturing network and as part of the wider Soufflet Malt Group, Bairds continues to grow its capabilities while remaining committed to quality, sustainability and strong supply chain partnerships.

Reporting to the Operations Manager - England, the Plant Manager will have full responsibility for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the Witham site. Leading the Barley, Engineering and Process Management teams, you will drive operational performance, maintain exceptional product quality, optimise costs and utilities, improve asset reliability, and foster a positive, high-performing culture.

This is a broad leadership role suited to an experienced manager, with experience in a malting, brewing, manufacturing or food processing business, who thrives in a complex operational environment and enjoys delivering continuous improvement through both people and process.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Driving world-class health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
  • Maximising production efficiency and product quality.
  • Reducing utility consumption, waste and operational costs.
  • Leading and developing a multi-disciplinary management team.
  • Managing budgets and delivering against key performance metrics.
  • Ensuring site compliance with customer, industry and regulatory standards.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Leading an engaged, accountable and high-performing workforce.
