The Opportunity
Are you an experienced manufacturing leader who can deliver operational results, develop people and drive continuous improvement?
Pelsis Group, a global manufacturer and supplier of innovative pest control, garden care and environmental solutions, is looking for a Plant Operations Manager to lead our Nottingham manufacturing site.
You’ll take responsibility for day-to-day site operations across manufacturing, engineering, warehousing, quality and Health, Safety & Environment. Your focus will be on delivering safe, efficient and cost-effective operations, ensuring products reach our customers on time, in full and to the required quality standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to strengthen site performance, develop a capable operational leadership team and deliver lasting improvements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
As our Plant Operations Manager, you’ll:
- Lead site operations: Deliver agreed production plans, deploying people, equipment and resources effectively across manufacturing, engineering and warehouse operations.
- Drive performance: Take ownership of safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity targets, using site KPIs to identify priorities and deliver improvements.
- Improve equipment reliability: Ensure engineering and maintenance activities maximise manufacturing uptime, asset performance and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Champion safety and quality: Build a culture of zero harm, maintain high environmental and quality standards, and ensure compliance with Group policies and regulatory requirements.
- Connect planning with delivery: Work closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial and Portfolio teams to meet customer demand and execute agreed production plans.
- Improve efficiency: Lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve labour productivity and optimise asset utilisation.
- Deliver operational change: Support capital investment, automation, digital manufacturing and process improvements, ensuring readiness for product launches and engineering changes.
- Develop your team: Set clear expectations, coach the site leadership team and build capability, engagement and succession plans across operational functions.
- Manage risks and costs: Oversee operational budgets, address performance gaps and support inventory and working-capital objectives.

What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a visible, proactive leader who combines operational expertise with commercial awareness and a strong commitment to people development.
You’ll need:
- Significant operational leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing manufacturing, engineering and warehouse operations.
- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems.
- A track record of delivering Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing operational budgets, improving productivity and controlling costs.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to lead teams through change, build accountability and sustain improvements.

A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Operations Management, or equivalent practical experience, would be welcome. A Lean Six Sigma qualification would also be an advantage.
Experience in industrial or consumer products, pest control or FMCG, or within a multi-site or international manufacturing organisation, would be beneficial.
