Plant Operator
Hourly Rate – £17.50 per hour
Hours – Hours to meet the needs of the business
Location & Postcode – Sutton Courtenay, OX14 4PW
As a Plant Operator at FCC Environment, you will operate mobile plant to support the acceptance, movement and placement of waste on site. You will help ensure site operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with company procedures, while maintaining high standards of customer service.
This vacancy is for a full-time position.

- Operating site plant safely and efficiently
- Supporting the safe acceptance and movement of waste on site
- Ensuring waste is managed in line with site procedures and permit requirements
- Carrying out daily checks, refuelling, cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery
- Reporting any faults, defects, incidents, near misses or unsafe conditions
- Helping to maintain good housekeeping across the site, including welfare areas
- Following site waste acceptance procedures, including sampling where required
- Identifying and reporting non-conforming waste
- Supporting site maintenance and holiday cover at other local operational sites if required
- Promoting a culture of excellent customer service
What are we looking for?
- Experience or qualifications in operating heavy plant would be an advantage
- Experience with equipment such as bulldozers, loading shovels, excavators, compactors, dumpers or tractors would be desirable
- Some understanding of landfill operations would be advantageous
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- A flexible approach to work
- Good people skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances
- A performance-driven approach with a focus on supporting operational improvement
