Role Description

The Plant Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Wickford, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and machinery used in blending, packaging and handling chemical and lubricant products. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring production processes, adjusting machine settings, performing basic equipment checks and reporting any issues to maintenance or supervisory staff. The role involves following standard operating procedures, adhering to quality and safety standards, completing production logs and assisting with loading, unloading and moving materials within the facility. The Plant Operator will collaborate closely with colleagues in operations, quality and logistics to maintain smooth plant performance and meet production targets. Full JD on request.

  • Candidates should possess skills in Plant Operations, including monitoring production processes and following standard operating procedures.
  • Candidates should hold a counterbalance fork truck licence with experience.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Machine Operation and Forklift Operation for safe handling of equipment and materials.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Quality Control to ensure products meet specifications and comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Maintenance, including basic equipment checks and reporting faults to maintenance teams.
  • Relevant experience in chemical, lubricant, manufacturing or industrial environments is beneficial.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols, use PPE correctly and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills; formal vocational or technical training in a related field is an advantage.
