Multi Skilled Recycling Operative

Location: Central Scotland
Salary: Competitive + Shift Allowance + Annual Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week | 4 on, 4 off (Days)

The Opportunity

We are working with a leading organisation within the recycling and resource recovery sector that is committed to sustainability and operational excellence. Due to continued investment and growth, they are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Recycling Operative to join their operations team.

The Role

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility. You'll work across a variety of operational activities, ensuring the site runs effectively while maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance.

Successful candidates will become multi-skilled across several operational functions and provide support wherever required across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the site weighbridge and manage vehicle movements.
  • Operate a Forklift Truck (additional plant experience such as loading shovel or grab is advantageous).
  • Act as a Traffic Marshal, ensuring the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Carry out material picking and quality inspection on processing lines.
  • Assist with housekeeping, litter picking and site cleanliness.
  • Support routine cleaning activities and clear plant blockages safely.
  • Complete operational documentation including site logs, fire checks and daily inspections.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and environmental standards.
  • Carry out any other reasonable operational duties as required.

Skills & Experience

Ideally, you will be trained and competent in at least three of the following:

  • Weighbridge operations
  • Forklift Truck operation
  • Loading Shovel or Grab operation
  • Traffic Marshalling
  • Picking line operations

You will also have:

  • A strong commitment to Health & Safety.
  • A flexible approach with the ability to work across multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Experience within recycling, waste management, manufacturing, logistics or another industrial processing environment would be advantageous.
