iSQ Recruitment is working in partnership with a global manufacturer to recruit an experienced Plant Services Engineer to join their engineering team at a high-performing production site.

This is a hands-on, multi-skilled engineering role focused on maintaining critical plant services and industrial utilities, including compressors, water treatment, pumps, refrigeration, compressed air and heating systems. The business offers a stable working environment, long-term career development and the opportunity to work across a varied range of industrial equipment.

Please note this client does not offer Visa sponsorship. Only candidates with full Right to Work in the UK and relevant experience will be considered. Due to the location, applicants must also have a full UK driving license and own vehicle.

The Role

Working within the Plant Services team, you will play a key role in keeping essential site services safe, compliant and operational to support production. Reporting to the Plant Services Team Leader, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault-finding and breakdown response across a range of mechanical and electrical plant.

This role would suit a multi-skilled engineer with a strong Mechanical or Electrical background and experience maintaining plant services, industrial utilities or similar equipment within a manufacturing environment.

Shift Pattern

  • Monday to Friday
  • Double Days | Alternating Weekly | 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00
  • Weekend cover is generally dependent on production demand
  • Enhanced rates apply to scheduled and unscheduled call-outs

Key Duties

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across critical plant services and industrial utilities.
  • Maintain and fault-find on compressors, compressed air dryers, water treatment, pumps, refrigeration, heating and chilled water systems.
  • Respond to breakdowns and minimise disruption to production.
  • Complete inspections, testing and maintenance to ensure plant remains safe and compliant.
  • Coordinate contractors and ensure maintenance work is completed safely and to the required standard.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and high standards of health & safety and housekeeping.

Plant Services Engineer – Criteria

  • Qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with a strong understanding of the other discipline to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience maintaining plant services, industrial utilities or similar equipment within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) experience.
  • Experience with compressors, pumps, water treatment, refrigeration, heating or compressed air systems is highly desirable.
  • Able to work independently, use initiative and respond effectively to breakdowns and changing production demands.
  • Experience working with contractors would be advantageous.
