Company Description

Due to the launch of our new Hub Operation supporting our expanding Out-of-Home (OOH) network—including automated parcel lockers and PUDO pickup points—we are recruiting an experienced Sortation Manager to join our hub operations team. In this role, you will lead high-volume sortation to ensure seamless, accurate processing for customer-convenient deliveries.

Contract: Permanent / 40 hours

Salary: Circa £40,500 plus bonus

Location: Hub 5 - Hinckley

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Plant Sortation Manager, to help strengthen our plant operations team within our national sortation Hub based at Hinckley and help them achieve ever-greater heights.

In this role you will be responsible for managing a small team who oversee the sortation system and equipment and effectively problem solve and analyse data to make sure the sorter is being used as effectively as possible.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Work to strict KPI targets that help the operation run at maximum efficiency to deliver outstanding service to our Depots and Customers.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are implemented and managed to a high standard.
  • Ensure the correct coding is being used to route the parcel.
  • The immediate resolution of any problems with our sortation equipment, whilst maintaining a high quality in all of our processes.
  • Due to the time critical nature of the business the successful management of your team and area is crucial to ensure the sort cut off is achieved.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • You will have experience in a fast-paced environment with proven and demonstrable people management experience, with the ability to lead an operation whilst being data driven.
  • You will have strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse large quantities of data to produce comprehensive reports.
  • You will have strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage team.
  • Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility.
  • Someone who demonstrates the core values of DPD DNA – Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and Accountability.
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to use Google chrome applications.

Additional Information

Job Specifics

  • You will have a comprehensive induction to DPD where we will go through the key processes that are required to make you a successful Plant Sortation Manager.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
