Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to be the focal point for all plant standards, safety, environmental and wellbeing matters within Costain Group related to plant equipment. Supporting the SLT and wider business on plant incidents and issues and plant & vehicle standards in line with industry practices and Climate Transition Plan.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with and support the wider business contracts by looking into incidents and assist contract Leaders and SHE Managers regarding Plant and tools and the Procurement & Supply Chain Management Departments and in their Business-to-Business meetings and coordinating plant and vehicle SHE standards.
- Liaise with plant manufacturers and hire companies to be able to bring the latest industry standards to the business and assist where appropriate with trials.
- Ensure that Costain maintains collaborative working relationships with industry groups such as the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS), Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) and Contractors Plant-Hire Association (CPA) as well as training organizations such as Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
