Can you look at a drawing, work out how to make it and then actually make it?
We're looking for an experienced Plastic Fabricator for a specialist engineering business in Cannock. This is a hands-on role for someone with proper fabrication skills. You won't be standing on a production line repeating the same operation all day. You'll be working from engineering drawings, producing sketches where required, figuring out the best way to manufacture something and then getting on and making it.
The Role
You'll be:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Producing basic sketches for fabrication
- Measuring, marking out, cutting, forming and fabricating plastic components
- Working out practical solutions for bespoke and one-off requirements
- Manufacturing components accurately from drawings and specifications
- Checking your own work and taking pride in the finished product
- Working closely with engineers on repairs, modifications and new requirements

- Has hands-on plastic fabrication experience
- Can confidently read engineering drawings
- Can measure, mark out and work accurately
- Is comfortable producing sketches and working things out for themselves
- Understands how things are actually made, not just how they look on a drawing
- Takes pride in producing good-quality work

We're looking for a fabricator, not a machine operator.
Someone with traditional workshop skills who can be given a drawing or a problem and trusted to turn it into a finished component. If you're happiest with a drawing in one hand and the tools to make it happen in the other, we'd like to hear from you.
