About Us
We are seeking a proactive, highly experienced registered nurse to lead our Plastic Surgery department as Theatre Coordinator to support the smooth and efficient running of our operating surgical sessions. This is a vital role within our clinical team, ensuring that surgical theatre lists run safely, effectively and on schedule.
The ideal candidate is an experienced registered nurse who will bring strong theatre experience as either an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Scrub Nurse, with a solid understanding of perioperative workflows, equipment requirements, and multidisciplinary teamwork. Previous experience in a coordination or leadership role within surgical theatres is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day plastic surgery theatre operations, ensuring efficient scheduling and smooth running of theatre lists.
- Act as a key point of contact between surgeons, anaesthetists and administrative staff.
- Ensure appropriate staffing, equipment and resources are in place for each list.
- Support clinical staff in maintaining high standards of safety, infection control, and patient care.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges proactively.
- Assist with stock management, ordering and maintaining equipment availability.
- Contribute to service improvements and help drive excellence within the department.

About You
- Qualified ODP (HCPC registered) or Registered Nurse with theatre/scrub experience (NMC registration).
- Strong background in operating theatres, with a thorough understanding of clinical environments and workflows.
- Previous experience as a Senior Surgical Theatre member of staff or Coordinator or similar leadership/organisational role (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
- Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
- Confident problem-solver with a proactive approach.

Pay: £40,000 - £50,000 per year
