The HPC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project. PlaterFramatomeHinkley Point C
What will you be doing?
Within this position you will be responsible for:
- Adhering to weld procedures, relevant quality procedures and assist with quality records and documentation
- Cutting, shaping and joining plate metal
- Maintaining equipment and small tools for assembly / welding / calibration
- Working from detailed engineering drawings
- Be suitably familiar with the contents of this Risk Assessment and Method Statements and Permit to Work
- Attending any HSE training, meetings, etc. as requested
- Attending, participate in and periodically lead Toolbox Talks
- Ensuring that tools, equipment and materials brought into and used in the area are fully checked and are compliant with HSE requirements
- Ensuring that no work is carried out unless supported by the relevant specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Permits
- Ensuring that all incidents and near misses are reported

Training and development expectations:
- Level 3 Apprenticeship in Plating, Fabrication, Welding, Structural Steelwork or Shipbuilding
- Time served / apprenticeship trained
- CITB Operatives Test
- CCSNG & NVQ Level 3 ACE Card (Blue)
- City & Guilds Medium Confined Space Level 2 (desirable)
- NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision (desirable)
What are we looking for?
- Be time served / apprentice trained
- Experience in fabrication of Stainless-steel equipment
- Read and understand detailed CAD drawings
- Used to working in a production and engineering environment
- Experience of supervising site activities and subcontractors
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations
- Team working ability
- Works calmly under pressure
- Has a questioning attitude
- Challenges what is considered unacceptable behaviours
