The Opportunity
An established enterprise organisation is looking for a Platform Architect to take ownership of several core infrastructure platforms across the business. This role sits between architecture and engineering, making it ideal for a senior infrastructure professional looking to move into a more strategic position while remaining close to technology. You'll be responsible for the technical direction, improvement, and ongoing development of key platforms including Microsoft 365, Virtualisation, Networking, and Cloud services.
Working closely with infrastructure teams, security, and business stakeholders, you'll help shape future technology decisions, support ongoing projects, and ensure platforms remain secure, stable, and fit for purpose.

- Own the technical roadmap for core infrastructure platforms.
- Provide architectural guidance across cloud, networking, virtualisation, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Produce high and low-level designs for infrastructure projects.
- Work with technical teams to ensure solutions are delivered in line with best practice.
- Identify opportunities for platform improvement and modernisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
