Platform Architect Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Platform Architect to lead the architecture, governance, modernization, and operational excellence of enterprise-scale Data and Integration Platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise across Snowflake, Confluent Cloud Kafka, Azure Cloud, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Data Mesh, and modern integration ecosystems.

Experience Required:

  • 15+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud, Integration, or Data Platforms.
  • Proven experience delivering at least one large-scale programme implementing a multi-technology cloud data platform.
  • Strong customer-facing architecture and stakeholder management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define enterprise platform architecture, reference architectures, standards, and engineering guardrails.
  • Develop modernization roadmaps for Data, Streaming, Integration, and Platform Engineering ecosystems.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technology evaluations, and transformation initiatives.
  • Establish governance, security, resilience, scalability, and cost optimization frameworks.
  • Define Snowflake architecture including security, RBAC, data sharing, performance optimization, and multi-environment strategy.
  • Guide warehouse sizing, workload management, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
  • Design event-driven architectures using Confluent Cloud Kafka.
  • Define Kafka topic governance, schema management, security controls, HA/DR, and cluster strategies.
  • Establish enterprise integration patterns across Kafka, APIs, cloud platforms, and downstream systems.
  • Define CI/CD standards using GitHub Actions and drive automation practices.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code, release governance, and quality controls.
  • Establish Data Mesh principles, domain ownership models, metadata management, and interoperability standards.
  • Collaborate with business and engineering teams to deliver scalable data products.

Required Technical Expertise:

  • Snowflake and/or Confluent Kafka expertise.
  • Confluent Cloud, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and streaming architectures.
  • GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation.
  • Cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native engineering.
  • Data Governance, Security, Compliance, and Platform Operations.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High customer focus and quality awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and drive technology transformation initiatives.
