The Role

A reputable investment firm is hiring a Platform Engineer to help build and evolve the engineering platform that underpins business-critical applications used by investment and trading teams.

This is a hands-on role sitting across platform engineering, cloud infrastructure and software delivery. You'll help create the tooling, automation and operational foundations that allow engineering teams to ship services quickly, securely and reliably. There is a significant amount of new development work, offering genuine influence over platform direction and engineering standards.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Build and enhance cloud-based platform capabilities used across multiple engineering teams
  • Develop and improve deployment automation, release processes and developer tooling
  • Operate and evolve Kubernetes environments supporting production workloads
  • Create reusable infrastructure modules and automation frameworks
  • Improve monitoring, reliability and operational maturity across critical systems
  • Work closely with application developers and business-facing technology teams to remove delivery bottlenecks and improve developer experience

What You Bring

  • Strong background in platform engineering, DevOps or cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerised application environments
  • Good knowledge of Azure or another major public cloud platform
  • Experience getting GitHub Actions runners working on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) would be advantageous
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience using tools such as Terraform
  • Familiarity with modern CI/CD tooling and automated delivery practices
  • Comfortable working with Linux environments and scripting in Python or Bash
