Data Platform Lead – Streaming | AWS | Kafka | EKS
📍 Milton Keynes, UK | 🏢 Hybrid – 3 Days Office/Week
💼 1-Year Fixed Term | 💷 £75K–£80K PA (may go slightly higher)

We are hiring a Data Platform Lead with strong Streaming experience to lead and manage a Data Streaming Engineering team for a banking client.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a Data Streaming Engineering team
- Design, deploy and support scalable AWS data platforms
- Manage streaming solutions using Kafka, Amazon MSK, Kinesis
- Administer and troubleshoot Amazon EKS/Kubernetes in production
- Develop Terraform modules and drive Infrastructure as Code
- Manage AWS networking: VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, Route Tables, NAT Gateways, Load Balancers & IAM
- Manage EC2-based infrastructure
- Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Implement monitoring, logging, security and operational best practices
- Collaborate with architects, developers and business stakeholders

🛠️ Mandatory Skills
- 12–15+ years of IT experience
- Strong AWS – EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch
- Hands-on Kafka / Amazon MSK / Kinesis – Mandatory
- Kubernetes administration & troubleshooting on EKS
- Terraform module development & automation
- AWS Networking & Security
- GitHub Actions / CI/CD
- Linux administration & Bash/Python scripting
- CloudWatch / Dynatrace
- Engineering team leadership & mentoring

🎯 Ideal candidates
Hands-on Data Platform / Streaming Engineering Leads with strong AWS and production Kubernetes experience. Banking/financial-services experience is an advantage.
