Job Description

We are looking for an experienced AWS Platform Engineer to help design our AWS Analytics Platform. Reporting into our Product Manager you'll help create a secure, scalable and automated cloud platform that enables engineering teams to deliver data products and business-critical services safely.

Working with our product, Security, Architecture and Engineering teams, you'll help shape the future of our cloud platform by improving developer experience, increasing automation across our AWS estate.


Responsibilities

  • Design secure, scalable AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Develop reusable platform capabilities that ensure engineering teams to self-serve infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Improve the platform's reliability, resilience, scalability and performance.
  • Support multi-account AWS environments using AWS best practices.

Automation and Platform Engineering

  • Build Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent technologies.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration management and operational processes.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines that accelerate safe and reliable software delivery.

Reliability and Operations

  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and observability across the platform.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking and application issues.
  • Participate in incident response, problem management and root cause analysis.

Security and Governance

  • Apply security-by-design principles across the platform.
  • Implement IAM, secrets management, encryption and network security controls.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, compliance activities and cloud governance.
  • Promote AWS Well-Architected and security best practices.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on AWS experience and experience building high-quality cloud platforms and production environments.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating secure, scalable, and resilient production cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational support skills.
  • Building cloud platforms that improve developer productivity.
  • Implementing monitoring, observability and operational tooling.
  • DNS, TCP/IP, Routing, Load balancing, Firewalls, Hybrid networking concepts
  • Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar.
  • Experience developing reusable infrastructure modules.
