DevSecOps / Platform Engineer

Location: Leeds (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £60,000–£90,000 DOE
Tech: AWS, EKS, Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, GuardDuty, CloudTrail

We're looking for two DevSecOps / Platform Engineers to join a growing platform team at an exciting stage of its evolution. Having recently established a dedicated Platform function, the team is now investing in two additional hires to help strengthen cloud security, improve operational resilience, and support the continued migration of critical infrastructure into AWS.

This is an opportunity to join a technology business where you'll have genuine ownership, influence technical direction, and work on modern cloud infrastructure without the bureaucracy often found in larger enterprises.

The Role

You'll work closely with a small, highly collaborative Platform team, helping to build secure, scalable AWS infrastructure while embedding security best practices across the organisation.

The business has recently completed a comprehensive security review with specialist consultants and is now implementing a significant roadmap of improvements. You'll play a key role in delivering these initiatives while supporting day-to-day platform operations and cloud infrastructure.

Projects include:

  • Implementing AWS security tooling and best practices
  • Supporting the migration of on-premise infrastructure into AWS
  • Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Managing Kubernetes workloads running on Amazon EKS
  • Automating operational tasks with Ansible
  • Working alongside external security consultants to triage and respond to platform and security alerts
  • Rolling out new security technologies including GuardDuty, CloudTrail, Panther, SentinelOne, Tailscale and modern endpoint management solutions
  • Contributing to platform reliability, monitoring and operational improvements
  • Supporting event-driven architecture and messaging infrastructure

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For

The team is hiring at multiple levels.

For more junior candidates, we're looking for around two or more years of commercial experience alongside a strong academic background.

For more experienced engineers, you'll bring proven production experience across AWS platform engineering and cloud security, with the ability to help shape best practices within a growing team.

Candidates from startup, scale-up or smaller consultancy environments are likely to thrive. We're particularly interested in engineers who enjoy being hands-on and taking responsibility, rather than those coming from highly siloed enterprise environments.

Interview Process

Stage 1: Video interview with the hiring managers
Stage 2: On-site interview in Leeds (approximately 90 minutes), including technical discussion, practical exercises and the opportunity to meet the wider team
Final Stage: Meeting with the Managing Director

If you're looking for a role where you'll have genuine ownership, work with modern AWS technologies, and help shape the future of a growing Platform function, we'd love to hear from you.
