Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Platform Engineer to partner with the Data Engineering CoE Lead in establishing and scaling a Data Engineering Centre of Excellence. The role will drive engineering standards, platform governance, technology strategy, and engineering excellence across the organization.
What you will do:
- Define and establish the Data Engineering CoE, including its charter, operating model, and roadmap.
- Evaluate and lead PoCs for data engineering frameworks, tools, and emerging technologies.
- Define adoption roadmaps for approved frameworks and best practices.
- Establish, enforce, and measure engineering standards, governance, and quality metrics.
- Develop reference architectures, reusable patterns, and engineering guardrails.
- Drive engineering excellence through KPIs, maturity assessments, and continuous improvement.
- Align Customer Data Platform (CDP) and Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) teams under a common engineering vision while maintaining operational independence.
- Establish clear governance and a roadmap for the Data Engineering CoE.
- Standardize engineering frameworks, practices, and architecture patterns.
- Measure the effectiveness of Data Engineers across the CoE and vendor partners.
- Drive alignment between CDP and EDP under a unified data engineering strategy.

Qualifications
- Bring strong experience in data engineering and engineering Centre of Excellence environments.
- Possess experience establishing engineering standards, governance frameworks, and operating models.
- Bring experience evaluating data engineering frameworks, tools, and emerging technologies through PoCs.
- Possess knowledge of reference architectures, reusable engineering patterns, and engineering guardrails.
- Bring experience defining adoption roadmaps for engineering frameworks and best practices.
- Possess experience establishing and measuring engineering KPIs, quality metrics, and maturity assessments.
- Bring experience working across Customer Data Platform (CDP) and Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) environments.
- Possess strong understanding of data engineering strategy, platform governance, and technology strategy.
- Bring experience working with vendor partners and measuring engineering effectiveness.
- Be eligible to complete BPSS checks.
