Analytics Platform Engineer - Senior or Principal

Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid)
Package: up to £110,000
Industry: Consultancy

Due to the nature of the role, an active UK*C DV Clearance is required for eligibility.

The Opportunity

I'm currently working with a specialist consultancy focused on digital transformation and technical delivery within the public sector, who are looking to hire both Senior or Principal Analytics Platform Engineer's to join their growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects involving cloud migration, data management and the development of robust analytics platforms supporting mission-critical solutions.

You'll play a key role in designing, building, testing and evolving scalable analytics hosting platforms, while also providing hands-on engineering support to Data Scientists and MLOps teams.

The role offers plenty of variety, with the opportunity to work across a broad range of technologies and tackle complex technical challenges. You'll need to be comfortable operating in environments where requirements can change and where you may need to work with unfamiliar technologies to find practical, reliable solutions.

If you're an experienced engineer with strong Python, Kubernetes and Docker skills who enjoys solving complex problems and working at the intersection of data, analytics and platform engineering, this could be an excellent next step.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and deploy scalable analytics hosting platforms.
  • Build secure and robust systems supporting mission-critical analytics solutions.
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and ongoing enhancement.
  • Work on high-impact projects focused on cloud migration and data management.
  • Develop and enhance platform capabilities to support evolving analytics requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across existing analytics services.
  • Deliver bug fixes and feature enhancements for mission-facing analytics platforms.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to Data Scientists and MLOps teams.
  • Work across a varied technology landscape, adapting to unfamiliar technologies where required.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of reliable, scalable and secure technical solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective engineering solutions.
  • Help ensure analytics platforms remain robust, maintainable and fit for purpose.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
