The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable platform capabilities across Harness and Ansible.
The role will focus on delivering these capabilities as centralized enterprise services, enabling engineering teams to adopt standardized CI/CD and automation practices at scale. You will work across cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, DevOps, platform reliability, security, and developer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and deliver centralized platform capabilities across Harness and Ansible.
- Design, implement, and operate scalable and highly available CI/CD and automation platforms.
- Establish and maintain standardized, reusable patterns for pipelines, templates, automation, and infrastructure configuration.
- Enable engineering teams to consume Harness and Ansible as shared enterprise services.
- Drive automation, self-service, reliability, security, and operational excellence across the platform.
- Partner with development and engineering teams to understand requirements and continuously improve the platform experience.
- Define and maintain platform standards, documentation, governance, and best practices.
- Integrate security and compliance controls into platform capabilities and delivery workflows.

- Deep hands-on experience designing, implementing, administering, and maintaining Harness CI/CD at enterprise scale.
- Strong experience with Harness Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD).
- Proven experience implementing Pipeline-as-Code and managing reusable pipeline templates.
- Experience establishing governance, standards, and best practices for centralized Harness environments.
Enterprise Ansible Automation
- Strong expertise developing robust, reusable Ansible Playbooks, Roles, and Collections.
- Extensive experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and Ansible Core in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with inventory management, execution environments, job templates, automation workflows, and RBAC.
- Experience designing and operating centralized Ansible environments consumed by multiple engineering teams.
Shared Platform / Service Management
- Proven experience delivering, scaling, and maintaining CI/CD and automation platforms as centralized services.
- Experience supporting large-scale engineering environments, ideally serving 1,000+ developers.
- Strong understanding of platform reliability, availability, scalability, operational support, and service ownership.
Platform-as-a-Product Mindset
- Experience treating internal platforms and tooling as products, with a strong focus on developer experience.
- Ability to gather requirements from engineering teams and translate them into scalable platform capabilities.
- Strong documentation skills, including user guides, onboarding materials, standards, and operational documentation.
- Customer-focused approach with an emphasis on self-service and ease of adoption.

Containerization & Orchestration
- Solid hands-on understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience deploying, scaling, and managing containerized Ansible execution environments.
- Understanding of Kubernetes-based platform architectures and operational practices.
Security & Compliance
- Experience embedding security and compliance guardrails into centralized CI/CD pipelines and automation platforms.
- Hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets-management solutions.
- Strong understanding of RBAC, identity and access management, secrets management, and secure automation.
- Experience implementing automated security, compliance, and policy scanning within delivery pipelines.
API & Enterprise Integration
- Strong experience using REST APIs and automation to extend and integrate Harness and Ansible capabilities.
- Experience integrating CI/CD and automation platforms with enterprise tools such as:
- Jira
- ServiceNow
- GitHub / GitLab
- Monitoring and observability platforms
- ITSM and enterprise governance tools
- Ability to design reliable, maintainable integrations that enable end-to-end automation.
