Investment Platform Engineer (Full Stack)
Duration: 4 Months initial contract
Rate: Up to £800 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: London - 2 days per week onsite
A leading investment and wealth management organisation is seeking an experienced Investment Platform Engineer to join its Investment Technology function on an initial 4-month contract.
This role sits at the intersection of Investments, Data, and Technology, supporting critical investment platform capabilities that underpin portfolio management, risk management, liquidity analysis, and investment data services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing and maintaining investment applications, supporting Bloomberg integrations, and ensuring the ongoing reliability and evolution of the firm's investment data ecosystem.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong Python development experience, Bloomberg expertise, and a solid understanding of investment data and financial markets.

Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain investment applications supporting portfolio management and risk functions.
- Deliver system updates and enhancements across Bloomberg environments.
- Support and maintain investment data platforms and associated data services.
- Build and maintain full-stack applications using Python and modern web technologies.
- Develop APIs and backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Create and support front-end applications using React and JavaScript.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform stability.
- Perform data analysis, validation, and reconciliation across investment datasets.
- Support the management of financial market data, positions, securities, and pricing information.
- Work closely with Investment, Data, and Technology teams to deliver platform improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Promote engineering best practices, code quality, and development standards.

Required Experience
- Strong Python development experience within investment management, asset management, or financial services environments.
- Proven experience working with Bloomberg.
- Experience integrating Bloomberg data and services into business applications.
- Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities.
- Experience developing and supporting web applications using React and JavaScript.
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks.
- Understanding of software development best practices, version control, and code optimisation.
- Experience working with investment data including positions, securities, pricing, and market data.
- Ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
