Platform Engineer (AWS Kubernetes HA) St Albans / WFH

About the Role

As a Platform Engineer you will collaborate with a small team to build and operate the platform underpinning its trading platforms, while developing the tools and services that enable software engineers to develop, build, test and deploy applications efficiently.

You'll join a highly impactful Platform Engineering team working at the intersection of software engineering, cloud infrastructure and developer experience. The team plays a central role in embracing AI, evolving engineering tools and processes to better support both developers and AI agents throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Technologies

  • AWS, Linux, Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis / Valkey, HAProxy, Consul, Grafana, OpenSearch and Terraform
  • C#.Net, Python, Node.js, Bash and PowerShell
  • CI/CD tooling includes Azure DevOps Pipelines and ArgoCD

Location / WFH

You'll join colleagues in St. Albans, Hertfordshire (parking available), 10 minute walk from local station, with the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days a week in a hybrid model and flexible working hours within the core 0730-1730.

About You

  • Previous Software Engineering skills, ideally C#.Net, Python, Node.js, PowerShell or Bash
  • Strong experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
  • Strong Kubernetes experience
  • Deep understanding of modern platform / cloud engineering
  • Hands-on experience using AI development tools and a good understanding of emerging AI engineering practices
  • Pragmatic, automation focused mindset with a passion for improving developer experience
  • Enjoy collaborating, learning new things and sharing knowledge
  • Degree educated in Computer Science or closely related discipline from a top tier university (e.g. Russel Group / Oxbridge)
