Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Media Platforms)
Start ASAP (within 2-4 weeks notice)
Expected duration: 6+ months initially
Location: London - Hybrid (2/3 days typically working from home/West London)
Rate: £450-470pd Outside IR35
Requirement: Must have the right to work in the UK and be based near London.
Job Description
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and development of cloud-based media platform components, including storage, video ingest, and workflow services.
- Deploy and manage scalable cloud infrastructure aligned with enterprise technology standards.
- Design automation, scripting, and API integrations to streamline media processing and operational workflows.
- Mentor engineering team members, promoting high-quality software development and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and efficient releases.
- Collaborate with external technology partners to resolve integration and architectural challenges.

Skills You'll Need
- Strong experience in platform, cloud, or backend software engineering such as cloud-based media platform components, including storage, ingest, and workflow services.
- Proficiency in scripting Python, Go, or Node.js for automation and API development.
- Architecture mindset: As a senior member of a small technical team, you should be able to design and code solutions that can scale to numerous digital media channels, platforms, and brands.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS (preferred) or GCP and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.
- Experience with digital asset management, cloud storage, or media ingestion platforms.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery practices and test-driven development (TDD).

Desirable Skills
- AWS or GCP professional-level certifications.
