Platform Engineer

We're recruiting an experienced Platform Engineer for a contract role in a platform team. You'll build and run the internal infrastructure and tooling that product engineering teams use to ship software safely and quickly, improving reliability, security, cost efficiency and developer experience.

Location: London, UK
Day rate: £550–£650 per day (IR35 status to be confirmed)
Contract: Initial 6–12 months, likely extension

What you'll do:

  • Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi or equivalent)
  • Run and improve Kubernetes platforms, covering upgrades, scaling, networking and security
  • Build CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Flux)
  • Develop internal developer platform capabilities and golden paths for self-service infrastructure
  • Implement observability across monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting
  • Drive reliability through SLOs, incident response and post-incident reviews
  • Embed security into the platform, including secrets management, IAM and policy-as-code
  • Optimise cloud cost and resource usage

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
