Platform Engineer

As a Platform Engineer, you will design, build and continuously improve our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and cloud infrastructure.

You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, security and developer experience — creating the tools, automation and standards that allow our teams to ship high-quality software faster, safer and more reliably.

You’ll have significant ownership and autonomy, helping shape our platform strategy as we scale. You’ll be as focused on the developer experience as you are on the underlying technology.

What You'll Do

  • Build and evolve self-service developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes platforms and cloud environments across Microsoft Azure.
  • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Establish and evolve GitOps workflows and automated deployment practices.
  • Create golden paths, paved roads and reusable platform capabilities that make the right thing the easy thing for developers.
  • Improve developer experience by reducing cognitive load, manual processes and unnecessary complexity.
  • Build platforms that are secure, scalable, resilient and cost-efficient.
  • Monitor platform health and performance, identify bottlenecks and continuously optimise our infrastructure.
  • Partner closely with SRE, Security and application engineering teams to establish standards, patterns and best practices.
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks and eliminate toil through tooling, automation and effective runbooks.
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including observability, progressive delivery and chaos engineering.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and help engineering teams resolve production problems.
  • Contribute to platform strategy and technical direction as the organisation and engineering function scale.
  • Share knowledge, mentor colleagues and help build a strong culture of engineering excellence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
