Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join a security-focused engineering programme, with responsibility for delivering automation across the full enterprise certificate lifecycle.
You will play a hands-on role in implementing and improving processes for certificate issuance, renewal, rotation, revocation and governance across cloud, infrastructure and application environments.
This is a delivery-focused position rather than a solution architecture role. You will be expected to work directly with platforms, infrastructure and application teams to implement robust, scalable automation within a fast-moving and security-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement automated certificate rotation processes across cloud, infrastructure and application environments.
  • Automate certificate renewal workflows and support the implementation of certificate revocation processes.
  • Integrate certificate lifecycle management capabilities with cloud platforms, services and enterprise applications.
  • Make application-level code changes where necessary to enable or improve certificate automation.
  • Manage and automate certificate operations using native AWS and GCP certificate management services.
  • Build reusable and scalable infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Support certificate management across public and private cloud environments and enterprise platforms.
  • Work closely with engineering and security teams to improve the reliability, consistency and security of certificate operations.
  • Create and maintain operational runbooks, technical documentation and reusable automation components.
  • Troubleshoot certificate-related issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of lifecycle management processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
